About Dan

I’ve discovered my lot in life is to be a nonfiction storyteller. My preferred media are video and sound.

Born in Missoula and raised in Lewistown, I will always consider the Big Skies of Montana my home. The story of how my parents ended up in the state is a pretty interesting one. I produced a radio documentary on their lives in college: But a Single Branch: A Millennial Discovers His Parents. I’m more proud of it than any work I have ever done.

That college was the University of Montana. I graduated in December, 2008 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in History and

Drama. Shortly thereafter, I eagerly took a job as a reporter with KBZK-TV, the CBS affiliate in Bozeman, Montana.

It was a wild two years.

After taking part in the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship in Germany during the Summer of 2011, I was offered the position of Capitol Bureau Chief at Montana Public Radio.

And that’s kind of where I stand right now.
